Project FAQs

What makes Hometown Connect’s high-speed internet different from other options?

What is the timeline for bringing high-speed internet to Mayville?

We are currently doing market research to determine if there is enough interest in the community to proceed with this project. The results of the survey on this website will play a large role in determining feasibility and a timeline. If there is enough interest in bringing high speed internet to Mayville, we would like to begin construction in early summer, 2024.

How much will this internet option cost?

Monthly pricing is still to be determined, but we are committed to offering competitively priced product.

Will there be a contract required?

Will there be data caps?

There will not be a contract required for this internet service.

There will not be data caps with this internet service.

How fast will this internet option be?

We anticipate speeds up to 1 Gig. Current internet speed available in Mayville is up to 300 MB for the majority of residents so this option will be 3x faster.

Completing the survey does not obligate you to buy/sign up for anything. You input will remain anonymous unless you ask us to keep you updated by email. Even if you elect to receive email updates, you are not obligated to buy anything at any time.

Are you a local company?

Yes, we are a family owned and operated company in the Mayville community. We look forward to moving this project forward to benefit all of us who live and work here!

What are the next steps in this process?

This will be a 100% new construction fiber-to-the-home solution. Fiber-To-The-Home (FTTH) is the installation and use of fiber optic cable from a central point to individual buildings to provide high-speed internet access. This means a dedicated fiber cable will be installed from our Mayville office directly into your home or business.

Moving forward with this project is dependent on community interest. Completing this survey will go a long way towards determining next steps. We are not seeking any commitments at this time, Simply letting us know if this is a product you may be interested in if it were available is all we’re looking for at this time.

We anticipate making a decision about the feasibility of the project in late spring, 2024.

If I complete the survey am I obligated to buy anything?
